About David A. Daar , MD, MBA
David Daar, MD, is a fellowship-trained plastic surgeon at Keck Medicine of USC specializing in reconstructive plastic surgery and microsurgery. While his clinical interests are broad, he has a particular focus in breast reconstruction using both implant-based techniques and methods that use your body’s own tissue to reconstruct the breast (for example, DIEP flap). In addition, as the co-director of the USC Lymphedema Center, Dr. Daar specializes in the management of lymphedema, including advanced microsurgical techniques such as lymphovenous bypass and lymph node transfer.
Dr. Daar has been a member of the Trojan family since he attended USC as an undergraduate. He completed his medical degree at UC Irvine (UCI), where he was a member of the Program In Medical Education for the Latino Community (PRIME-LC). The program bolstered his clinical education with specialized training in closing the healthcare gap of California’s Latino community through improving healthcare delivery, research, and policy. Dr. Daar completed his plastic surgery residency in the Hansjörg Wyss Department of Plastic Surgery at NYU Langone Health, followed by a microsurgery fellowship at USC.
Dr. Daar has published over 60 peer-reviewed research articles and has lectured nationally. His additional clinical and research interests include advancing the field of plastic surgery by combining cutting-edge technology (e.g., 3D printing and ultrasound imaging) with microsurgical techniques.
Dr. Daar is a proud husband who enjoys cooking and hiking with his wife and Mini Golden Retriever, Boone, throughout Los Angeles.
