Dr. Hanks has been the Facility Director of the Department of Radiology at LAC + USC since 1998. In this capacity, Dr. Hanks has served on numerous leadership committees for both the facility and LA County Department of Health Services. In addition, Dr. Hanks is Vice Chairman of Academic Practice for the Keck School of Medicine Department of Radiology.
Dr. Hanks practices the spectrum of interventional radiology, which includes transarterial treatment of tumors, both malignant and benign, vascular malformations, portal venous interventions, venous disease, venous access, urologic and hepatobiliary interventions. She is a Fellow of the Society of Interventional Radiology and a member and past president of Western Angiographic and Interventional Radiology Society.
Dr. Sue Hanks graduated from Marshall Medical School in 1986, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor society. She started her Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine but transferred to the University of Southern California program, where she completed the residency and an Interventional Radiology fellowship in 1992. After completing her training, she stayed at the University of Southern California Department of Radiology as faculty, where she remains today as an Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology.Benefits among health plans and employers vary.
